Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tool Room Manager to oversee the operations of our tool room. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing tool design, manufacturing, maintenance, and ensuring optimal availability of tools for production. This role requires hands-on expertise in tool room machinery, strong leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate with various departments to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day operations of the tool room, including scheduling, planning, and workflow management.
Supervise a team of toolmakers, machinists, and maintenance personnel.
Oversee the design, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of jigs, fixtures, dies, and molds.
Ensure availability and upkeep of tools required for uninterrupted production.
Maintain accurate records of tool usage, repairs, and inventory.
Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for all tools and machines.
Coordinate with production and design teams for tool modifications and improvements.
Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality systems, and company policies.
Manage budgets, procurement of tooling materials, and vendor coordination.
Train and mentor tool room staff to enhance technical skills and performance.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Making.
4+years of relevant experience, including at least 2–3 years in a managerial role.
Strong knowledge of tool room machinery such as milling, grinding, CNC, EDM, and turning machines.
Hands-on experience in tool design using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
Good understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality control.
Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in rubber or plastic manufacturing industries.
Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Knowledge of ERP systems and inventory control.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
