Information Technology Specialist

Job Summary:

The Information Technology (IT) Specialist is responsible for maintaining the organization's IT systems and networks, ensuring high levels of availability and security. This role includes providing technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and assisting with the implementation of new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first and second-level technical support to end-users (in-person, via phone, or remote).
• Install, configure, and maintain software, hardware, and network systems.
• Monitor system performance and ensure uptime, reliability, and security.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
• Troubleshoot system, network, and application problems.
• Assist in the implementation of IT projects (upgrades, migrations, etc.).
• Maintain inventory of IT assets and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers as needed.
• Conduct data backups and disaster recovery operations.

Requirements:

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 2+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role.

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or MacOS environments.
• Familiarity with networking protocols and devices (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, routers, firewalls).
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and virtualization tools (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Proficiency with helpdesk and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow).
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
