Indirect Tax Manager

Handling GST Notices & Litigation

• Draft replies to

  SCNs, DRC-01A/DRC-01, ASMT notices, audit objections, offense notices

  , and investigations.
• Prepare defence documentation for issues involving

  classification, valuation, ITC eligibility, place of supply, exemptions, refund claims

  , etc.
• Manage end-to-end process from notice receipt to closure, including representation during hearings.
• Coordinate with legal counsels for appeals before

  Appellate Authority, Tribunal,

  etc.

2. GST Audit & Departmental Interaction

• Handle

  GST audits

  (AG Audit, Internal Audit, and Departmental Audit).
• Provide required data, explanations, and reconciliations and ensure closure of audit points.
• Maintain professional communication with GST officers and represent the organization during inquiries and visits.

3. GST Compliance & Reporting

• Prepare and file

  GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6

  , and

  Annual Returns (GSTR-9/9C)

  within timelines.
• Ensure correct GST classification of all services provided by the organization.
• Monitor rate applicability, exemptions, reverse charge requirements and place-of-supply rules.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment of taxes and maintenance of challan records.

4. Cross-functional Coordination

• Work closely with Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Operations and external consultants.
• Conduct internal training on common litigation issues, departmental queries and documentation readiness.
