Immediate requirement for Road Safety Engineer/ Transportation Engineer

Centre of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), RBG Labs, IIT Madras, is a think tank funded by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India. We provide guidance and expertise to various stakeholders, including state governments and industry bodies, on all aspects of road safety. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, we adhere to the principle of an Integrated Systems approach, focusing on the 5E’s: Engineering, Enforcement, Emergency, and Education, bolstered by Empathy (Human Factors). Our mission is to enhance road safety on both a national and global scale, with a firm commitment to saving lives.

Responsibilities

 Analyze existing road infrastructure to identify safety hazards and areas for improvement.

 Perform On Field Surveys, Road Assessment Safety Audits, Blackspot Analysis across states

 Evaluate the deficiencies and suggest corrective measures on ground as per the standards

 Improve the assessment and audit methodologies from field visit and feedback from stakeholders.

 Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.

 Training the stakeholders across the parameters

 Monitor progress and compile reports in project status.

Requirements

 Bachelors/Masters/PhD/PostDoc in Civil/Transportation Engineering

 Preferred proven experience in Road engineering specially Road Audits/Design

 Knowledge of design and visualizations software in Road Engineering

 Project management and supervision skills

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills
