IB PYP Coordinator – Job Description

Location: Trichy, Tamil Nadu

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: 50000–60000 per month

Experience: 3–5 years in IB PYP or international education

Key Responsibilities

• Curriculum Leadership
• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
• Ensure alignment with IB standards and practices, fostering inquiry-based and transdisciplinary learning
• Develop and maintain the Programme of Inquiry (POI), scope and sequences, and unit planners
• Teacher Support and Professional Development
• Mentor and support PYP teachers, promoting collaborative planning and reflective practices
• Identify professional development needs and coordinate relevant training opportunities
• Facilitate regular staff meetings and collaborative planning sessions
• Assessment and Reporting
• Oversee assessment strategies, ensuring they align with IB guidelines and effectively measure student learning
• Manage student portfolios and support the PYP Exhibition process
• Communicate student progress to parents and stakeholders through reports and conferences
• IB Liaison and Compliance
• Act as the primary contact between the school and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO)
• Ensure adherence to IB policies and procedures, preparing for evaluations and accreditation processes
• Coordinate IB-related documentation and maintain accurate records
• Community Engagement
• Promote the PYP philosophy to the school community, including parents and external stakeholders
• Organize workshops and information sessions to enhance understanding of the PYP
• Foster a culture of international-mindedness and inclusivity within the school environment

Qualifications and Skills

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is mandatory; IB PYP certification is preferred
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in teaching, with at least 1 year in an IB PYP setting
• Skills:
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in using IB online platforms such as OCC and IBIS
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment
