Role Overview

HSE Officer

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment Compliance

  • Implement site HSE plans, policies, and procedures as per regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and statutory safety norms.
  • Monitor safety during key activities such as civil works, structure erection, module installation, mechanical & electrical works.

Training & Awareness

  • Conduct HSE induction training, toolbox talks (TBT), and on-site awareness sessions.
  • Promote safety culture among workers, supervisors, and contractors.
  • Ensure proper usage of PPE and enforce site discipline.

Incident & Emergency Management

  • Report, record, and investigate accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Prepare and execute emergency response plans and drills.

Contractor & Site Safety Management

  • Oversee contractor compliance with HSE requirements.
  • Conduct audits and inspections of subcontractor operations.
  • Verify operator and manpower competency for machinery and critical activities.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain daily HSE records, checklists, permits, and statutory documents.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly HSE reports and share with stakeholders.
  • Maintain and monitor observation tracking and closure.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education:

    • B.Sc or Engineering Diploma (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil preferred)
    • Mandatory HSE Diploma: ADIS / NEBOSH / equivalent
  • Experience:

    • Minimum

      3 years

      in

      solar renewable energy

      projects OR

      construction industry

      (civil, mechanical, electrical works).
  • Skills:

    • Good understanding of safety standards & regulations
    • Strong documentation, audit, and reporting skills
    • Ability to manage manpower and ensure compliance
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
