Job Description

Position Overview

The HR Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business plan. This role will oversee recruitment, employee

relations, performance management, compliance, and professional development. The

successful candidate will be both strategic and hands-on, ensuring that the firm maintains a

supportive, high-performing, and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR policies and initiatives aligned with firm objectives.
  • Partner with leadership to support business growth through workforce planning and talent management.
  • Foster a positive organizational culture that aligns with the firms values.

Recruitment & Talent Management

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Oversee employee training and development programs to support continuous professional growth.
  • Implement retention strategies to reduce turnover and strengthen employee engagement.

Employee Relations & Performance

  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
  • Support managers in conducting performance reviews and developing staff.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional excellence.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Maintain HR records in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Oversee workplace health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives.

Operational HR Management

  • Manage payroll and benefits administration in collaboration with external providers (if applicable).
  • Monitor HR metrics and provide reports to senior leadership.
  • Lead initiatives to improve efficiency of HR processes and employee experience.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a management role (experience in professional services or accounting/bookkeeping firms preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record in recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance strategic initiatives with hands-on operational responsibilities.
  • Experience with cloud-based HR tools desirable.
