Hostel Warden

Note: We've schedule the Walk In - Interview on 08th November 2025 between 10:00 am to 03:00 Pm.

A hostel warden plays a crucial role in managing and maintaining discipline in a hostel.

Since the duty is 24x7, and they can't stay with their family, their responsibilities include

both administrative and pastoral duties.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Hostel Warden

1. Student Welfare & Discipline

• Ensure safety, security, and well-being of all hostel residents.
• Maintain discipline and enforce hostel rules and regulations strictly.
• Address student grievances and resolve conflicts amicably.
• Monitor students& behaviour and take action against misconduct.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
• Presence in the mess during Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
• Conduct the attendance of the students during night time.
• Issuing Gate Pass to the resident students of their allotted hostels.

2. Hostel Administration & Management

• Supervise hostel infrastructure, including rooms, dining area, common spaces, and

sanitation.

• Oversee maintenance work (plumbing, electricity, furniture, etc.).
• Maintain records of residents (check-in, check-out, attendance, visitors, etc.).
• Allocate rooms and manage hostel occupancy efficiently.
• Liaise with college administration for hostel-related matters.

3. Security & Safety

• Ensure strict entry-exit monitoring to prevent unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with security personnel for hostel safety.
• Handle emergencies like fire hazards, medical issues, or security threats.
• Keep emergency contacts of students' guardians and medical professionals.

4. Health & Hygiene Maintenance

• Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the hostel premises.
• Supervise food quality in the mess and address complaints.
• Ensure students follow personal hygiene standards.

5. Emotional & Psychological Support

• Be approachable and act as a mentor for students.
• Offer counselling and moral support during distress.
• Identify students struggling with mental health issues and guide them for

professional help.

6. Communication & Coordination

• Conduct regular meetings with hostel students to address concerns.
• Communicate important notices or rules to residents.
• Report serious incidents to college authorities/management immediately.

7. Emergency Handling

• Be available 24x7 for any crisis.
• Act swiftly during medical emergencies, accidents, or security threats.
• Coordinate with hospitals, fire services when needed.
