Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and responsible Hostel Warden to oversee the daily operations and well-being of our students in the boarding house. The ideal candidate will be a mentor, a guardian, and an administrator who ensures a safe, secure, disciplined, and homely environment conducive to the students' academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Student Welfare & Supervision:

• Act as a primary guardian and mentor for boarders, providing emotional support and guidance.
• Supervise and manage the daily routine of students, including wake-up, study hours, meals, recreational activities, and lights-out.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive 'house' culture where every student feels valued and respected.
• Address student grievances, homesickness, and interpersonal issues with sensitivity and care.

Administration & Discipline:

• Maintain impeccable discipline and ensure adherence to hostel rules and regulations.
• Manage student leave and outing permissions in coordination with parents and school authorities.
• Keep accurate records of student attendance, health, incidents, and inventory.
• Oversee the distribution and maintenance of hostel supplies and assets.

Health & Safety:

• Ensure the health and safety of all boarders at all times.
• Coordinate with the school infirmary/nurse for any medical needs and accompany students to the hospital if required.
• Conduct regular room inspections to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Implement and practice emergency drills (e.g., fire, evacuation) and safety protocols.

Coordination & Communication:

• Serve as the vital link between the boarding house, school management, parents, and students.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding their child's well-being and progress.
• Work closely with the academic staff to monitor students' academic performance and provide necessary support.
• Supervise and coordinate with the supporting hostel staff (cooks, cleaners, security).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A graduate degree in any discipline. A degree in Psychology, Education, or Social Work will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Hostel Warden, House Parent, or in a similar residential student care role, preferably in a school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong administrative and organizational abilities.
• Empathetic, patient, and resilient with a genuine passion for working with children.
• Ability to handle emergencies with composure and sound judgment.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office, Email).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Female candidates are often preferred for this role to cater to the needs of girl boarders, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of first-aid and basic healthcare.
• Fluency in Hindi and English.
