HOD & Professor - Electronics & Communication Engineering

Qualification – PhD, M.Tech (any ECE branch), B.Tech (ECE)

Experience – 10 years or more in Academics & 4 to 5 years in an Administrative role

Academic and Curricular Management

Curriculum Development: Designing and updating the ECE curriculum to align with industry demands and affiliating university guidelines (e.g., AICTE, RGPV).

Academic Planning: Allocating subjects and preparing teaching schedules and workloads for faculty members.

Monitoring Progress: Overseeing the academic performance of students and faculty, including monitoring attendance, internal marks, and university results.

Quality Assurance: Ensuring the smooth conduct of quality management systems in accordance with accreditation bodies like the NBA and NAAC.

Administration and Operations

Resource Management: Managing departmental resources, including laboratories, equipment, books, journals, and software, and preparing the annual budget in consultation with deans and registrars.

Staff Management: Assisting with the hiring, onboarding, training, and performance appraisals of both teaching and non-teaching staff.

Discipline: Maintaining academic discipline among students and staff and resolving departmental issues.

Reporting: Acting as the primary point of contact for the department and reporting regularly to the Principal or Director regarding departmental requirements and activities.

Research and Development

Promoting Research: Encouraging faculty and students to undertake research projects, apply for funding, and publish findings in journals and conferences.

Industry Collaboration: Arranging guest lectures, workshops, seminars, and industrial visits, and establishing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with industry partners for training and internships.

Innovation: Fostering an environment of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship within the department.

Student Welfare and Mentorship

Counseling: Interacting with students to identify and solve problems, and implementing mentorship or proctor systems.

Placement Support: Coordinating with the placement cell to ensure students have access to job opportunities and career enhancement programs.

Holistic Development: Promoting co-curricular and extracurricular activities to develop students' overall personality, leadership, and ethical values.
