Hiring: Lead R&D Engineer – Automotive Design Expert | Mysore Location

The Lead Engineer - R&D will be responsible for leading the end-to-end product lifecycle, from initial design concepts through execution, with a strong focus on precision metal component manufacturing. This role demands a highly skilled and experienced engineer with a proven track record in automotive component design, product development, and customer interaction. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of APQP, DFMA, GD&T, and have extensive hands-on design experience. Responsibilities: ➤ Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to manufacturing and launch. Develop and maintain product roadmaps and timelines. Ensure adherence to quality standards and project milestones. ➤ Design & Development: Conceptualize, design, and develop precision metal components for automotive applications. Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create detailed engineering drawings and specifications. Conduct design reviews and ensure design feasibility. ➤ Manufacturing & Process Development: Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes. Implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles to improve manufacturability and reduce costs. Develop and implement process control plans. ➤ Quality & Compliance: Apply Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodologies to ensure product quality. IATF & VDA Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles for accurate component design and manufacturing. Ensure compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. ➤ Customer Interface & Collaboration: Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers. Understand and translate customer requirements into design specifications. Provide technical support and address customer inquiries. ➤ Research & Development: Conduct research on new materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes. Develop and implement innovative solutions to improve product performance and efficiency. Lead R&D projects and contribute to intellectual property development. ➤ Team Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: 12-15 years of experience in automotive component design and customer interface. Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks). Strong understanding of precision metal component manufacturing processes. Expertise in product design, APQP, DFMA, and GD&T. Hands-on design experience with a proven track record. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
