Hiring For Warehouse Manager (Grocery Background) - Bangalore

Position Overview

The Warehouse Manager will oversee end-to-end warehouse operations for a 3PL-managed grocery distribution center. This role ensures efficient inbound, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, and dispatch processes while maintaining high standards of safety, hygiene, compliance, and service level performance for perishable and non-perishable grocery products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Inbound Operations

• Plan and manage receipt of goods from multiple FMCG and grocery vendors.
  
• Ensure timely unloading, quality checks, and system GRN posting.
  
• Monitor shelf-life sensitive items and implement FEFO/ FIFO processes strictly.
  

2. Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory through daily cycle counts & monthly stock audits.
  
• Manage stock rotation, damaged/expired goods handling, and shrinkage control.
  
• Optimize storage locations (ambient, chilled, frozen) based on product category.
  
• Coordinate with client and internal teams for stock reconciliation.
  

3. Order Fulfillment

• Oversee picking, sorting, packing, and dispatch processes.
  
• Ensure orders meet client SLAs regarding accuracy, timelines, and packaging quality.
  
• Implement productivity metrics for pickers/packers to drive efficiency.
  

4. Warehouse Planning & Process Improvement

• Develop manpower plans for peak/lean periods.
  
• Continuously improve warehouse processes using 5S, Kaizen, lean practices.
  
• Ensure optimal space utilization and bin management.
  

5. People Management

• Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff including supervisors, pickers, loaders, and forklift operators.
  
• Plan shift rosters and ensure adequate staffing.
  
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage discipline, training, and motivation.
  

6. Safety, Hygiene & Compliance

• Enforce food safety standards (FSSAI), cold-chain protocols, and hygiene practices.
  
• Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines, fire safety checks, and equipment maintenance.
  
• Conduct regular safety trainings and audits.
  

7. Coordination & Client Management

• Act as the operational POC for clients for daily performance updates and issue resolution.
  
• Share MIS reports including GRN status, inventory accuracy, order fulfilment SLAs, manpower productivity, shrinkage etc.
  
• Participate in weekly/monthly client reviews.
  

8. Technology & Systems

• Manage WMS/ERP operations including inbound, put-away, picking, and dispatch transactions.
  
• Generate operational reports and ensure daily data accuracy.
  
• Ensure handheld devices/scanners are used correctly for traceability.
  

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of grocery/FMCG warehouse operations (ambient + cold chain).
  
• Expertise in inventory control & WMS systems.
  
• Team leadership with strong planning and problem-solving skills.
  
• Ability to work under pressure and manage high-volume operations.
  
• Understanding of safety, quality, and compliance norms for food products.
  

Qualification & Experience

• Graduate/PG in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management.
  
• 510 years of warehouse experience, preferably in

  3PL grocery or FMCG

  .
• Experience in handling large manpower teams and high SKU operations.
