Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end material planning for production, new product development and service parts.
  • Develop procurement strategies aligned with business needs, production schedules, and inventory norms.
  • Identify, valuate, and onboard suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timely delivery.
  • Negotiate long-term contracts, price settlements, and agreements with key vendors.
  • Ensure supplier capability development and performance monitoring.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels to support uninterrupted production.
  • Implement inventory control tools such as ABC analysis, FSN, VED, Safety Stock, Min-Max levels etc.
  • Drive monthly material reconciliation, slow-moving and non-moving stock review.
  • Reduce excess inventory while ensuring zero stock-out situations.
  • Lead cost reduction programs through value engineering, alternate sourcing, vendor consolidation, and logistics optimization.
  • Implement annual cost-saving targets (PPV, inventory reduction, freight optimization, make-or-buy analysis).
  • Execute special SCM initiatives such as digitization, automation, and process standardization.
  • Benchmark industry best practices to improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
  • Ensure vendor compliance on quality, delivery, and commercial requirements.
  • Lead supplier audits, performance reviews, and improvement plans.
  • Work with cross-functional teams for supplier quality enhancement.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the SCM team across procurement, planning, logistics, and stores.
  • Create a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and performance excellence.
