Supplier Development Manager

Job Summary

The Supplier Development Manager (SDE) supports Isolation Valves business by improving the Supply Chain performance from a Cost, Speed, Delivery and Cash perspective. He/ She shall act as a Development Leader in Casting and Forgings leading with team and suppliers using Perfect Execution concepts and structured problem solving to implement improvement programs with India Supply Base.

He/ She has the responsibility to drive our Strategic initiatives on Identifying/ developing Key Foundry Partners and consolidating the tail suppliers. He/ She shall lead the development of all NPD/ Resourcing opportunities planned for the Growth of India region as a Model Foundry Supply Base for our World Areas.

They will also work closely with Product Supply Chain Leaders, Buyers, Material Managers and Quality Managers to drive the Cost reduction initiatives apart from driving the Supplier Performance and upgradation programs.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

1. Set and reinforce standards for a safe work environment.
2. Should be able to demonstrate expertise on Supplier management and positively influencing the Business Goals and Objectives.
3. Drive supplier transfer programs with customer team engagement, and program management.
4. Review supplier proposals (casting and machined casting) and manufacturing feasibility feedback, discuss with Engineering, and resolve the open issues.
5. Actively participate in the monthly buyer report out meeting to support planning and inventory Control managers, Buyer/Planners, and Quality Managers through the fast resolution of escalated / repetitive supplier delivery and quality issues, including root causes countermeasures (RCCM), and long-term effective corrective actions.
6. Monitor key performance indicators, RDSL, and DPPM
7. Initiate development program on TOP RDSL suppliers. Support chronic DPPM issues to Plant QA. Support Global Supplier Quality in case of chronic issues escalation.
8. Analyze site forecasts provided to critical suppliers and keep close communication with Operations as well as the supplier to identify programs necessary to maintain supplier performance (stocking program opportunities, adjusting suppliers capacities, etc.)
9. Ensure Suppliers are trained in Structured Problem Solving, Lean & Six Sigma, and that Supplier management is committed to the use of these tools.
