Role & responsibilities Job Title: Associate Vice President Production Reporting to: Vice President Manufacturing Industry: Specialty Chemicals / Fluorochemicals / Continuous Process Manufacturing Purpose of the Role: To lead production operations across multiple units to ensure achievement of targets related to Production, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety. The role also ensures timely and error-free filling operations aligned with the budgeted sales plan. Key Responsibilities: Production Oversight: Drive production operations in line with budgeted norms and SOPs, ensuring output meets demand plans while maintaining quality and cost-efficiency. Filling Operations: Manage error-free and timely execution of filling activities to meet changing sales and dispatch schedules. Process & Safety Management: Lead plant safety practices, hazard identification, and implementation of risk mitigations. Maintain strict adherence to EHS norms and compliance standards. People Management: Lead a team of direct and indirect reports; foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence. Implement training and skill development programs. Continuous Improvement: Drive cost reduction initiatives, resource optimization, and process efficiency using TQM, Kaizen, PSP, and other methodologies. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with departments such as Sales, Planning, Quality, Engineering, Sourcing, and EHS for coordinated production and improvement initiatives. Key Challenges: Scaling up production dynamically to meet fluctuating targets. Standardizing processes for consistent quality. Managing hazardous materials and ensuring compliance. Balancing cost competitiveness with global market requirements. Decision-Making Authority: Authorized to make decisions on plant modifications, process changes, production planning, and safety-related plant operations. Joint decisions in consultation with department heads on raw material planning and plant shutdowns. Preferred candidate profile Education: B.Tech/B.E. in Chemical/Mechanical/Production or related fields. Experience: 14-20 years of experience in a continuous process plant, preferably in hazardous chemicals or specialty chemicals. Strong leadership and team development capabilities Expertise in process safety and operational excellence Planning & execution with a focus on cost and quality Customer orientation and persuasive communication Analytical and problem-solving mindset Ability to manage change in a dynamic regulatory and competitive environment
