Job Title: Head of Light Container Load Location: Mumbai Department: Logistics/Operations Reports to: Country Head A&O LCL Head (Light Container Load), we need someone with 10+yrs of experience from Logistics industry only. This role is open for Mumbai location, and we can offer max up to 35L. Job Summary: The Head of LCL will be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic direction, planning, and execution of the LCL operations across the companys supply chain. The role involves managing all activities related to the loading, transportation, and unloading of light containers in a way that maximizes operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. This is a senior leadership position that requires a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise, as well as exceptional leadership and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Strategy: Lead the LCL division responsible for achievement of India LCL budget. Develop and implement effective strategies for growth of LCL business ensuring timely deliveries and cost efficiency. Collaborate with senior management to align operational goals with overall company objectives. Product Management Ensure improvement in business conversion ratio min 35 – 40%. Drive growth & develop new products specific to focus trade lanes. Get the LCL pricing aligned for large RFQ’s. Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of the LCL team, ensuring smooth execution and meeting of performance KPIs. Manage capacity planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to handle LCL business effectively. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for CFS & LCL handling processes. Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals, ensuring continuous improvement in operational performance. Foster a culture of collaboration, high performance, and continuous learning within the team. Recruit, train, and onboard new employees as required. Customer & Vendor Relationship Management: Work closely with customers, logistics partners, and vendors to ensure high-quality service and timely delivery of goods. Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as LCL service providers / Co loaders and transportation providers, ensuring optimal performance and service. Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all operations adhere to safety regulations, legal requirements, and industry standards. Lead efforts to maintain a safe work environment, minimizing workplace accidents and incidents related to LCL operations. Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization: Identify and drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and implement changes to optimize light container load processes. Reporting & Analytics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department, providing regular reports and updates to senior leadership. Conduct performance reviews, assess operational risks, and make necessary adjustments to meet organizational goals. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus. Experience: At least 10+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, with a proven track record in a leadership or management role. Experience in handling & developing LCL business on Pan India level. Strong understanding of Industry best practices, route optimization, and transportation management systems (TMS). Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Proficiency in supply chain software and MS Office Suite. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
