Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Tata Electronics is seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) to oversee all EHS programs within our advanced semiconductor fabrication facility (fab) at Dholera, Gujrat. This role is critical for ensuring a safe and compliant work environment, mitigating risks unique to chip manufacturing, and driving a strong, proactive safety culture.


Responsibilities

The Head of Fab EHS will be responsible for developing and managing site-specific Fab EHS programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as industry standards like SEMI S2/S8 and ISO 14001/45001.

Key duties include:

  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Leading incident investigations
  • Overseeing emergency response
  • Providing EHS training.

The role also involves acting as the main contact for regulatory agencies, analyzing EHS data for continuous improvement, and leading the site EHS team.

The person will be responsible for ensuring that all Safety protocols are followed and implemented in the factory and drive initiatives to improve the Safety Culture.


Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Environmental Engineering or Occupational Health and Safety is required, with an advanced degree preferred.
  • Candidates MUST have at least 15 years of progressive EHS leadership experience, with significant leadership experience in a high-volume manufacturing wafer fabrication plant.
  • Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM) are highly valued.
  • Essential qualifications include in-depth knowledge of semiconductor EHS regulations and standards, proficiency in EHS software, strong communication, crisis management, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
