Head of Design

As the Head of Design at The Baby Trunk, your role is pivotal in shaping the creative vision for the apparel & home categories. You will be responsible for defining and driving the brand's design philosophy, researching global and local trends, overseeing end-to-end product development, collaborating with cross-functional teams, sourcing vendors and materials efficiently, focusing on consumer preferences, ensuring sustainability and compliance, and translating global insights into designs for the target audience. Key Responsibilities: - Define and drive the brand's design philosophy across apparel and home categories. - Research global and local trends to develop innovative, trend-forward collections. - Oversee end-to-end design, ensuring quality, safety, and sustainability. - Collaborate with merchandising, sourcing, and marketing teams to align with business objectives. - Identify and work with the right suppliers for efficient design execution. - Keep customer preferences at the core of all design decisions. - Ensure products meet safety, ethical, and environmental standards. Qualifications Required: - 12+ years of experience in apparel/home design, preferably in luxury or export retail brands for baby/kids category. - Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, and production techniques. - Ability to balance aesthetics with functionality and comfort. - Experience in team management and mentoring. - Excellent knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD software.
