Job Title: Head of Science Department (Contractual)

Job Summary:

The Head of Science Department will lead the Science faculty (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Science) across all grades, ensuring high standards in curriculum planning, teaching, and assessment as per CBSE norms. The role requires academic leadership, coordination, mentorship, and a hands-on approach to pedagogy and innovation in science education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the science department teachers (Primary to Senior Secondary).
• Ensure effective delivery of CBSE curriculum in line with NEP 2020 guidelines.
• Plan yearly, monthly, and weekly academic schedules and lesson plans.
• Conduct regular departmental meetings and teacher observations.
• Organize and oversee lab activities, science exhibitions, Olympiads, and competitions.
• Monitor and ensure effective use of science laboratories and resources.
• Track student performance and provide academic support strategies.
• Guide and mentor teachers in pedagogical methods, assessments, and technology integration.
• Coordinate with examination cell for internal assessments and CBSE board exams.
• Ensure compliance with CBSE/Affiliation guidelines related to Science stream.
• Conduct/facilitate teacher training and capacity-building workshops.
• Provide reports and updates to school leadership on department performance.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Master’s degree in any Science discipline (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) + B.Ed.
• Minimum 3-6 years of teaching experience, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with CBSE curriculum (Grades 6–10) is mandatory.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
• Comfortable with digital teaching tools and online platforms.
• Flexible to work on a contract basis with defined deliverables.

• Duration:6 Months
• Remuneration: As per experience and school norms

Pay: ₹27,065.41 - ₹45,000.00 per month
