Head of Copy

Please Note: This role is suitable for a senior copywriter who has lead multi-product and multi-platform copywriting projects and has mentored others around them.

Job Summary

Owns the words that move the funnel - from high-velocity ads to long-form explainers and leadership narratives. You’ll guide a team of copywriters to produce on-brand, high-conversion messaging across B2B and B2C, switching tones and formats frequently (performance ads, scripts, brochures, op-eds). This is a playground for anyone who loves testing hooks and seeing the impact show up in clicks, leads, and recall.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, document, and enforce brand tone of voice.
• Review, mentor, and approve copywriters’ work.
• Collaborate with PR for press copy, with Social for captions, with Growth for performance ads.
• Build playbooks for messaging by vertical (B2B IP, EP, Campus, OIA, HHM).
• Run A/B tests on hooks, CTAs, and long-form vs short-form messaging.
• Partner with TL team to distil research into sharp messaging.
• Ensure storytelling consistency across web, email, ads, and offline comms.
• Experiment with AI tools for faster drafting, testing, and analysis.
• Provide leadership with speeches, scripts, and flagship messaging.
• Drive continuous improvement of copy effectiveness.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years in brand/performance copy across multiple categories.
• Evidence of conversion impact and rigorous testing culture.
• Able to switch tones fast (B2B executive to B2C student).
• Strong editor/mentor; builds clear frameworks and briefs.
• Degree in Communications/Journalism/Marketing.
