We are in the process of expanding in 2 phases (First phase is 1.5 MT to 3 MT) Brown field project and Second Phase from 3 MT to 10 MT Green Field Project, to ensure Vedanta’s strong footprint in steel business. Position Name: Head Environment Experience : 12+ Years Qualification : B.E./B.Tech/Post Graduation with relevant experience in Environment Location : Bokaro, Jharkahnd Roles & Responsibilities Ensuring the statutory compliance of the environmental systems (ISO 14001) by zero discharge, zero waste and zero harm. Monitoring the proper disposal of wastewater by treating it in the water treatment plant and ensuring the production of biogas from the biogas plant. Conducting internal environment audits, training and awareness programs for employees, applying for environment awards, supporting MR for implementation of IMS system, VSAP implementation, creating a culture of reporting environment incidents Monitoring and ensuring green belt development around the periphery of the plant which includes plantation and replacement. Drive & identify waste/effluents generated from the plant. Develop, implement & monitor environmental &sustainability strategies to address issues of energy use, resource conversion, recycling, and ash management. Digitize compliance to ensure live tracking and timely fulfillment. Ensuring continuous improvement in the quality system of ISO – 9001, ISO 1400, and OHSAS – 18001. Preparation of Environment Management Plans. Budgeting and Co-ordinating protective measures. Monitoring and ensuring green belt development around the periphery of the plant which includes plantation and replacement. Desired skills and knowle dge Understanding of environmental principles and practices. Knowledge of ecosystems, biodiversity, and conservation.
