About the Department

Financial Crime Intelligence unit is the first line of defense to prevent Cyber frauds & Mule activities. The unit leverages cutting edge analytics

& tech stack to develop & implement strategies to prevent frauds. Unit has the following imperatives:

• Strengthen fraud prevention capabilities
• Use analytics to identify patterns and create right controls
• Evaluate & deploy new age tools
• Deepen focus on training of staff on fraud prevention
• Strong feedback loop to create & improve controls across product, process & journeys
• Strike right balance between customer experience and fraud prevention

Role & responsibilities

Role demands following must haves:

1. Fraud Strategy & Governance

• Develop and implement fraud risk strategies for card & payment channel
• Formulate fraud control frameworks and governance standards in line with regulatory and internal risk policies
• Partner with business and technology teams to embed preventive controls in product and process design

2. Rule Writing & Optimization

• Design, implement, and continuously fine tune fraud controls
• Monitor and assess rule performance metrics (hit rates, false positives, accuracy)
• Conduct regular reviews to align logic with emerging fraud patterns and business objectives

3. Analytics & Insights

• Leverage data analytics to identify and predict fraudulent behaviour
• Develop dashboards and trend reports to monitor fraud incidents, patterns, and performance indicators.
• Conduct root cause and post-incident analyses to strengthen controls.

4. Risk Assessment & Control Effectiveness

• Perform fraud risk assessments for new products, channels, and journeys
• Define and track key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics to monitor fraud exposure.
• Ensure timely response and closure of audit observations and compliance requirements.

5. Leadership & Collaboration

• Lead a team of analysts and rule strategists, fostering a culture of analytical rigor
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Product teams.
• Own the business requirement document with Business solutions & IT to ensure on time delivery of projects.
• Knowledge of relevant RBI circulars and policies and how they impact us

Prerequisite for the role

Candidates with prior experience in fraud analytics & hands on with analytical tools would be preferred.

• Hands on experience with FRM tools like Clari5 & Falcon
• Should have excellent analytical skills, communication, and presentation skills.
• AVP Level: 812 years of experience in fraud management, analytics, or risk strategy
• VP Level: 1218 years of proven experience leading fraud strategy and analytics teams
• Should have work in a fraud risk management for atleast 5-6 years

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate
• Graduates from technical background (Engineering) would be preferred.
• Relevant Certification on fraud risk /analytics /tools will be an advantage
