Role Overview
The Graduate Engineer Trainee – ESG & Sustainability will support the organization’s
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
and
sustainability initiatives
. The role involves assisting in safety implementation, environmental monitoring, statutory compliance, and emergency preparedness while ensuring adherence to applicable standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety
- Assist in implementing workplace safety procedures and safety SOPs
- Conduct daily and weekly safety inspections and report unsafe conditions
- Support toolbox talks, safety training sessions, and safety awareness programs
- Assist in ensuring proper PPE usage and maintaining safety signage across the site
- Support accident and incident reporting, including basic root cause documentation
- Environment
- Assist in monitoring air, water, and waste management practices
- Maintain records related to waste generation, disposal, and authorized recyclers
- Support compliance related to hazardous waste, e-waste, and plastic waste management
- Coordinate with external vendors for environmental testing (air, water, noise)
- Maintain environmental registers and supporting documentation
- Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain statutory EHS registers and records
- Assist during internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections
- Support compliance initiatives related to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and SMETA (as applicable)
- Ensure timely documentation, filing, and record maintenance
- Emergency Preparedness
- Assist in conducting fire safety checks and emergency evacuation mock drills
- Support maintenance and monitoring of fire extinguishers and emergency equipment
- Help update emergency contact lists and emergency response plans
Desired Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of EHS and sustainability concepts
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills

- Willingness to learn and work on-site
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and reporting
Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech (Environmental / Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial Safety or related discipline)
