Job Description

Role Summary The Government Liaison Officer will act as the primary bridge between the organization and various Central and State Government departments, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Dairy Development Boards, Animal Husbandry Departments, and NITI Aayog. The role focuses on monitoring relevant schemes, securing required approvals, and building strategic government relationships to support the adoption of the company’s dairy equipment and expand market presence across India. Key Responsibilities 1. Policy & Scheme Monitoring Track and analyze all relevant central and state government schemes, subsidies, and incentives related to dairy farming, dairy processing, and farm equipment (e.g., NABARD, SIDBI, state dairy schemes). Prepare detailed policy briefs and strategic recommendations for management to align sales and product strategies with government programs. Identify funding and subsidy opportunities that can support product adoption and regional expansion. 2. Liaison & Relationship Management Act as the single point of contact for government departments, regulatory authorities, and industry associations (IDFA, FICCI, CII, Dairy Federations). Build and maintain ethical, transparent, and long-term relationships with key government officials and administrators. Facilitate smooth communication and ensure the company stays updated with relevant policy changes and government priorities. 3. Compliance & Approvals Manage and obtain timely clearances, licenses, NOCs, quality certifications, and other regulatory approvals necessary for operations and product sales. Ensure full compliance with local, state, and national regulations related to agricultural machinery, dairy equipment, and general business operations. Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Operations, Legal) to ensure documentation accuracy and transparency during approval processes. 4. Tender & Procurement Facilitation Track government tenders, procurement notices, and public-sector purchasing opportunities related to dairy equipment and technology. Support Sales, Legal, and Finance teams in preparing tender responses, including submission of all required government documentation, certifications, and compliance papers. Liaise with government procurement authorities to understand eligibility criteria, evaluation processes, and timelines. 5. Advocacy & Representation Represent the company in government meetings, committee discussions, industry forums, and conferences. Advocate for policy improvements that promote dairy mechanization, farm automation, and sustainable technology adoption. Provide insights on policy trends and upcoming regulatory developments that may impact business strategy. Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Agriculture, Political Science, Law, or related field. MBA/PGDM preferred. Experience: 7–12 years of experience in government liaisoning, public affairs, agriculture, dairy, or related sectors. Skills: Strong networking and relationship-building abilities Knowledge of government processes, approvals, and tender procedures Excellent communication, documentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to interpret government policies, schemes, and regulatory frameworks. High ethical standards and transparency in dealings.
