Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for P&L. Formulate and communicate Sales & Marketing strategies keeping in mind the marketing plan process, the Budgets/Targets approved by the Board and Line Management.
  • Explore new markets and business opportunities with a view to ensuring that the Group market share is maintained and wherever viable, exceeded. Monitor Sales performance of Branches vis a vis target. Make regular visits to all branches.
  • Maintain and monitor high level contact with top exporters, importers, freight forwarders, shippers and consignees. Responsible for enforcing the Credit Control policy with a view to ensure that outstanding are kept to the minimum.
  • Ensure ongoing close liaison with the Operations, Documentation, CFS &Trucking functions to capitalize on capacity and resource allocations to provide a synergistic approach to customers and to address and resolve commercial issues impacting on the business.
  • Responsible for overall operations of the region right from Job openings, job closing, attending system issues, address all operational issues in terms of job movement, etc.
  • Ensure maximum Market penetration. Ensure that systems supporting the Sales & Marketing function are used appropriately, and optimal benefits are derived. Ensure that reporting requirements of various Line Management desks are complied with in a timely manner and the data is accurate
  • Ensure that the organization is fully acquainted with service plans, acceptance policies and other pertinent aspects of our service scope.
  • Determine sales promotion strategies at a Macro level and communicates them to all regions to ensure maximum mileage is achieved.
  • Constantly monitor the performance of sub-agencies, handling agencies and ensure their contribution to the Line is proportionate to the investments made in them. Promote new ICDs and regularly monitor ICD performance.
  • Generate nominations and Import Leads. Apart from the duties and responsibilities listed above, any other additional duties as advised by the management from time to time.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • Achieve minimum of 5 times of Gross salary as Gross profit.Ensure collections are done within the credit period.Onboarding new customers
  • Responsible for overall operations of the region right from Job openings, job closing, attending system issues, address all operational issues in terms of job movement, etc.
  • Compilation and collection of data for periodic reporting to Senior Management and Principals.Clearing of all the disputed and claim related shipments on time.
  • Preparation of various reports such as branch wise performance, sector wise performance, salesman wise performance, vessel wise performance etc. Monitor cargo delay from top customers and ensure no delay in the same.
  • YELLOW LINES 1. Ensure renewal and adherence of Service Contracts 2. Ensure that checks and regulations are followed for booking special equipment like Reefer, Hazardous cargo 3. Ensure rates are and contracts are negotiated with the top customers

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Qualification(s)

  • Graduate or post graduate Prior Experience: 10-15 years
  • Skills & Personal Attributes Knowledge of the Shipping Laws & Trade Practices Good communication, industry knowledge and self -driven approach.
