General Manager - Water Sector(STP,ETP,WTP)

The General Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic, operational, technical, and commercial performance of the companys water and wastewater business vertical. This includes leadership of multi-location STP/ETP/WTP projects, P&L ownership, and ensuring world-class standards in project delivery, regulatory compliance, and sustainable water management. This is a demanding leadership role requiring strong domain expertise, and the ability to lead large engineering teams under complex, high-pressure project environments.

Role & responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & P&L Management

• Drive strategic direction for the water vertical aligned with corporate growth targets.
• Full P&L responsibility including revenue growth, profitability, and cost optimization.
• Build long-term business plans, expansion strategies, and investment proposals.
• Oversee multi-crore project budgets and financial performance metrics.

High-Value Project Leadership (EPC & O&M)

• Lead execution of large-scale water/wastewater projects.
• Provide advanced process engineering solutions for MBR, SBR etc.
• Ensure rapid resolution of on-ground challenges, design deviations, and operational failures.

Business Development & Market Expansion

• Lead end-to-end business development for EPC + O&M in industrial, and corporate sectors.
• Build strategic alliances with government agencies, EPC partners, and consultants.
• Identify emerging technologies and market opportunities to ensure competitive edge.

Leadership, Culture & Team Development

• Lead a workforce of 200 - 500+ employees including engineers, operators, and project teams.
• Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, ethics, and engineering excellence.
• Develop future leaders through structured training and competency programs.

. Project Management

• Oversee planning, execution, and commissioning of new water and wastewater treatment projects.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Review project designs, drawings, BOQs, and technical documents.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 1520+ years of experience in STP/ETP/WTP operations, EPC projects, or water industry management.
• Proven track record in large-scale project execution and team leadership.
