General Ledger Sr. Accountant

Job Title:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior General Ledger (GL) Accountant with 6+ years of experience in global finance operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in general ledger accounting, month-end/year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting within a multinational environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, ERP proficiency, and the ability to collaborate across geographies and cross-functional teams.

Update 1:

• The ideal candidate should have practical experience and working knowledge in at least two of the following workstreams: GL, R2R (Reconciliation & Reporting), AP, AR, etc.

• A strong understanding of Program and Transition Management is essential—specifically the ability to manage the full lifecycle from scoping and knowledge transfer through stabilization.

Key Responsibilities

General Ledger & Month-End Close

• Manage complete month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities and regions.
  
• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, amortization, and payroll.
  
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and eliminations in accordance with group policies.
  

Reconciliations & Reporting

• Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations using Blackline or similar tools.
  
• Analyze financial statements and variances; prepare commentary and present findings to leadership.
  
• Support global financial reporting and consolidation activities under IFRS/US GAAP.
  

Compliance & Controls

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX).
  
• Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.
  

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and standardization of GL processes.
  
• Participate in finance transformation initiatives and ERP enhancement projects.
  

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with FP&A, Accounts Payable, Tax, Treasury, and international finance teams.
  
• Act as a finance business partner for assigned geographies or business units.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  
• 6+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a global or multinational environment.
  
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as

  SAP FICO, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics

  .
• Strong understanding of

  IFRS

  and/or

  US GAAP

  .
• Proficiency in Excel with strong data analysis and financial reporting skills.
  
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional, international teams.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as

  CA-Inter, CMA, CPA, ACCA

  are an added advantage.
• Experience with reconciliation tools such as

  Blackline, Trintech, or FloQast

  .
• Exposure to shared services or global finance operations.
  
• Experience with automation tools or RPA for finance processes.
