About the Role:


Google Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable and highly available infrastructure on 

    Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

    .

  • Implement 

    Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)

     using 

    Terraform

     or 

    Deployment Manager

    .

  • Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance.

  • Build and maintain 

    CI/CD pipelines

     using tools such as 

    Jenkins

    , 

    GitLab CI/CD

    , or 

    Google Cloud Build

    .

  • Collaborate with application teams to 

    containerize applications

     using 

    Docker

     and manage them through 

    Kubernetes / GKE

    .

  • Configure and maintain networking components: 

    VPCs, subnets, load balancers, VPNs, Cloud Interconnect, and peering

    .

  • Monitor infrastructure health, performance, and cost optimization using tools like 

    Stackdriver / Google Cloud Monitoring / Logging / Cloud Trace

    .

  • Ensure adherence to cloud 

    security best practices

    , including IAM policies, encryption, vulnerability management, and compliance standards.

  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and cloud-related issues.

  • Participate in 

    on-call rotation

     and 

    incident response

     as required.

Technical Skills & Experience:


  • 5–7 years

     of experience as a 

    Cloud Infrastructure / DevOps / SRE Engineer

    .

  • Strong hands-on experience with 

    GCP services

    : Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Cloud SQL / BigQuery.

  • Proficiency in 

    Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)

     tools — 

    Terraform (preferred)

    , Google Deployment Manager.

  • Experience with 

    CI/CD tools

     such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, or Google Cloud Build.

  • Strong knowledge of 

    containers and orchestration

     (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE).

  • Solid understanding of 

    networking concepts

    : VPC, firewall rules, routing, load balancing.

  • Scripting and automation using 

    Python, Bash, or Go

    .

  • Experience with 

    monitoring and alerting tools

     (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).

  • Familiarity with 

    cloud security best practices

    .

Good to Have:


  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect

     or 

    Professional DevOps Engineer

     certification.

  • Exposure to 

    other cloud platforms

     (AWS / Azure).

  • Experience with 

    Serverless architecture

     (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions).

  • Knowledge of 

    service mesh (Istio)

     and 

    API gateways

    .
