Petroleum System Geochemist This role is for an early to mid-career petroleum geochemist to work alongside earth scientists and petroleum engineers to assess petroleum source rock presence, quality, and quantity. The position also involves characterizing and predicting hydrocarbon fluid phase and composition through integrated geochemical data analysis and interpretation. The insights gained will support exploration, asset development, and field optimization decisions. Responsibilities: Provide geochemistry expertise for exploration and development projects, including regional and prospect-scale assessments. Support well operations during exploration and development phases by analyzing geochemical data. Collaborate with internal and external laboratories to collect, process, and interpret geochemical data. Integrate geochemical findings with other subsurface datasets and present results for project reviews. Solid understanding of petroleum source rock development in sedimentary basins, including oil and gas generation, migration, and alteration processes. Experience in analyzing and interpreting geochemical data in at least two of the following areas: Source rock evaluation (TOC, Rock-Eval, vitrinite reflectance, etc.). Gas data analysis (composition and isotopic data for hydrocarbon and non-hydrocarbon gases). Oil geochemistry data (API gravity, GOR, sulfur content, biomarkers, and isotopic composition). Ability to integrate geochemical data with geological and engineering datasets such as petrophysical data, seismic data, and PVT data. Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think analytically, and apply learnings effectively. Strong collaboration skills with a proven ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities: Sales and Business Development: Achieve and exceed sales targets for gas chromatographs, gas analyzers, analytical instruments, and online water quality instruments. Develop and implement effective sales plans and strategies to penetrate target markets, with a focus on industries requiring real-time water quality data. Identify and pursue new business opportunities in various industries, including chemical, petrochemical, environmental, pharmaceutical, research, and water treatment/management sectors. Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers, including showcasing the capabilities of online water monitoring solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers. Provide technical and commercial support to customers across all product lines. Tender Management: Identify and evaluate relevant tenders and government procurement opportunities, including those related to water quality monitoring. Prepare and submit comprehensive and competitive tender proposals. Manage the tender process from initial identification to final award. Customer Relationship Management: Provide excellent customer service and support throughout the sales process and beyond. Address customer inquiries and resolve technical issues promptly, including those related to the installation and operation of online monitoring systems. Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records. Collaboration with Japanese Client: Act as a liaison between the company and the Japanese client, ensuring clear communication and alignment. Provide feedback to the Japanese client on market trends and customer requirements, including specific needs for water quality monitoring. Learn and maintain up to date knowledge of the products direct from the Japanese manufacturer. Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and competitive activities, including the growing demand for online water quality monitoring. Provide regular reports on sales performance and market intelligence. On Ground Sales: Visit Companies, R and D facilities and water treatment plants to promote products and generate sales. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of hands-on sales experience in selling gas chromatographs, gas analyzers, analytical instruments, and online water quality instruments. Proven track record of achieving sales targets. Strong technical knowledge of analytical instrumentation, applications, and water quality monitoring principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong negotiation and closing skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite. Experience with tender management and government procurement processes. Ability to travel. Knowledge of Japanese business culture is a plus. Preferred Skills: Experience working with Japanese companies. Experience with online water quality monitoring systems, including sensors, data loggers, and software. Appropriate candidate is an expert organic chemist. Principal responsibility is oversight and execution of lab requirements of utilities, plant and R&D functions. Experience in leading and training and development of a lab team to ensure consistent and accurate results on an ongoing, daily basis is preferred. Keep abreast of current scientific literature and discuss new findings with colleagues. Identification of shortcomings in existing plant processes along with detailed root cause analysis, solution hypothesis conception and testing, solution finalization, feasibility and economic studies, assistance in solution implementation on commercial scale. Well versed with handling complex chemical reactions in lab, lab safety, handling of reagents, catalyst, hazardous chemicals, residues and process wastes.
