Job Description

Job Title: Unreal Engine VR/MR Faculty & Game Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Unreal Engine Developer who can work in a dual role:

1️ Faculty/Trainer – teaching students advanced Unreal Engine development

2️ Game Developer – contributing directly to the VR/MR game currently being developed by our studio

The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about teaching and comfortable working on real game production, especially in VR/MR, C++, Shaders, and OpenX R-based workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Faculty / Training Responsibilities

  • Conduct classes and practical training sessions on:
  • Unreal Engine fundamentals & advanced systems
  • Blueprint to C++ integration
  • Performance profiling & optimization for VR/MR
  • Enhanced Input System
  • Custom shader & material development using HLSL
  • VR-specific workflows and best practices
  • Packaging & deployment for Quest/Pico standalone headsets
  • OpenXR-based development and controller/hand-tracking setup
  • Provide students with hands-on guidance, debug their projects, and help them build strong portfolios.
  • Prepare training materials, notes, project tasks, tests, and step-by-step tutorials.
  • Mentor students in developing VR/MR experiences and industry-ready prototypes.

.2 Game Development Responsibilities (Production Work)

  • The candidate will actively work with our internal development team to build our VR/MR game.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Implement gameplay systems using Blueprints & C++
  • Optimize performance for mobile VR headsets
  • Develop VR interactions (grab, throw, UI interaction, locomotion)
  • Work on VR controllers, input mapping, and Enhanced Input System
  • Build and optimize shaders/materials (HLSL preferred)
  • Handle packaging, testing, and deployment on Quest/Pico
  • Use Unreal Insights, Stat commands, and RenderDoc for profiling
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, and other developers
  • Fix bugs, optimize gameplay, and ensure high framerate (72–120 FPS)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine 5
  • Experience in VR/MR application development
  • Good understanding of:
  • Blueprint visual scripting
  • C++ programming for Unreal Engine
  • Enhanced Input System
  • OpenXR workflows
  • LSL shader writing / custom material nodes
  • Performance optimization on mobile VR hardware (Quest/Pico)
  • Ability to teach and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work on real studio projects and meet production deadlines.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previously shipped VR/MR app or game (even small projects)
  • Experience working with:
  • VR locomotion (teleport, smooth movement)
  • VR physics interaction
  • Spatial anchors, hand tracking, passthrough
  • Experience mentoring or training students
  • Knowledge of Git or other version-control systems
  • Experience with Render Doc/Unreal Insights for performance debugging
