About Company It's a large conglomerate in stainless-steel manufacturing. Job Title: Manager- Electrical Location: Boisar, Maharashtra Educational Qualification & Experience: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation & Control 1015 years of experience in electrical & automation roles in heavy forging/press industry Experience with 2500T/3000T forging press operations will be preferred Exposure to safety systems, ISO documentation, and lean maintenance practices is an advantage Knowledge of SAP is mandatory. Job Summary: Responsible for managing the entire electrical and automation infrastructure of 2500T and 3000T hydraulic/mechanical presses. The role includes ensuring high equipment uptime, electrical safety, energy efficiency, and process automation for consistent production of forged round bright bars. Key Responsibilities: 1. Electrical Systems & Maintenance Lead and supervise all electrical maintenance activities for press machines, furnaces, manipulators, and auxiliary equipment. Ensure uninterrupted power supply and manage HT/LT panels, transformers, and distribution systems. Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all electrical equipment. Troubleshoot breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime of critical forging equipment. Ensure the requisite electrical inventory available in store and has the control over inventory. 2. Automation & Control Systems Manage PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and automation components used in press and forging lines. Interface with automation vendors for upgrades, troubleshooting, and control logic modifications. Ensure proper calibration and functioning of sensors, encoders, VFDs, temperature controllers, etc. Work closely with production for optimizing cycle time through automation fine-tuning. 3. Project Management Lead electrical aspects of new machine installation, commissioning, and automation retrofits. Plan and execute plant expansions, energy audits, and electrical load assessments. Prepare CAPEX proposals and budgets for electrical and automation improvements. 4. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with statutory norms related to electrical safety, energy conservation, and environmental standards. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and root cause analysis of electrical incidents. Train electricians and operators on electrical safety and emergency response. 5. Team Management & Documentation Supervise a team of electricians, automation technicians, and shift maintenance personnel. Maintain documentation for control diagrams, circuit layouts, maintenance logs, and equipment manuals. Coordinate with external contractors, OEMs, and service providers as required. Required Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of hydraulic/mechanical forging press control systems. Expertise in Siemens/Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and industrial communication protocols. Proficient in reading and developing electrical schematics and automation logic. Ability to analyze faults, troubleshoot high-voltage systems, and resolve control issues. Familiarity with SCADA, industrial networking, and energy management systems.
