Job Description

As a Functional Safety Engineer at Cadence, you will play a crucial role in implementing the ISO 26262 safety plan for the Silicon Solutions Group (SSG) IP's targeted for automotive products. Your responsibilities will include creating and supporting functional safety work products according to ISO 26262 standards, collaborating with various teams and stakeholders on functional safety activities, proposing safety features and defining safety architecture, and ensuring that functional safety standards are met throughout product development cycles. Key Responsibilities: - Act as Functional Safety Engineer for Cadence/SSG Safety related HW & SW products - Create and/or support functional safety work products according to ISO 26262 standards - Collaborate with project engineers, marketing & development team, safety consultants, vendors, and customers on Functional Safety activities - Work with the architecture team to propose safety features and define safety architecture - Conduct reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are met Qualifications Required: - BSEE/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (MS preferred) - 5 or more years of relevant work experience - Experience or familiarity with Microprocessor, DSP, hardware accelerator architecture/design, SoC/ASIC design methodologies - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Experience in fault injection techniques and embedded HW/SW systems Product Development Life Cycle Good to Have: - Experience in ISO 26262 and safety certification - Knowledge of ISO 21434 and ISO 9001 Quality Management standard - Experience in FMEDA, DFA, FMEA, FTA - Scripting, programming, and process automation skill - Familiarity with Configuration, Requirements, and Documentation Management tools In addition to the above responsibilities and qualifications, you may occasionally need to travel, including international travel. The work environment at Cadence is designed to enable individuals with disabilities to perform their essential functions. The annual salary range for California is $136,500 to $253,500, with potential for additional incentive compensation such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
