FP&A Analyst

Role Overview: As the FP&A Commercial analyst at AkzoNobel, you will report to the Head of Regional FP&A Commercial and collaborate closely with the Commercial Navigator. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-value analysis to the Commercial organization, particularly focusing on sales and margin management, performance cell analysis, deal support, and A&P effectiveness. You will also support global FP&A commercial processes to align with AkzoNobel's strategic objectives. Additionally, you will be involved in continuous improvement and standardization initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Generate insights and analyze trends by monitoring key performance indicators, highlighting trends, and identifying causes of unexpected variance - Calculate price, volume, and mix impact per channel/segment/customer to identify areas for margin improvement - Monitor brand, product, and customer profitability along with tracking NPI progress - Support the review of A&P and other discretionary S&D cost effectiveness - Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives such as pricing, sales force effectiveness, and cost to serve - Drive the development of planning and budgeting processes by consolidating inputs from commercial teams and navigators for submission of QRF and Budget - Measure forecast accuracy and suggest areas for improvement to the Navigators - Proactively seek opportunities to improve and standardize data reports for increased efficiency - Share best practices within the team and across regions - Support the implementation of BI and other IT initiatives Collaboration: - Work closely with Commercial navigators, ISC FP&A, Functional controlling, Commercial FP&A analysts from other regions, and the Global Reporting and Analytics team Qualifications Required: - 10-12 years of experience as an analyst or controller in a business environment - Ambitious individual looking to develop into an all-round Finance professional at AkzoNobel - Curious, eager to learn, and constantly seeking improvement opportunities - Strong affinity for numbers and systems with excellent analytical skills and a critical yet constructive attitude - Experience in building automated reports and models is a must, along with proficiency in HFM, ERP, and BI systems - Ability to analyze, organize, summarize complex financial information and communicate recommendations effectively - Prioritization skills to work with multiple supervisors, along with a can-do mentality and drive to accomplish tasks in a multi-stakeholder environment - Self-starter, hands-on mentality, and a team player - Ability to make independent interpretations, draw conclusions, and propose solutions - Accurate, organized, and disciplined to deliver high-quality output within strict deadlines - Experience in change management in a finance environment is preferred (Note: Company details have been omitted from the final JD as they were not explicitly mentioned in the job description provided),
