Role Description

We are recruiting for Founding Quant Research Engineers to drive the full R&D cycle of Stellar’s investment systems. This is a hybrid role that combines financial intuition, modeling depth, and engineering execution:

Research & Modeling

• Develop advanced models for low-frequency predictions of returns and risks (primarily Indian equities, but including other asset classes)
• Build hyper-personalized portfolio optimizers compatible with various benchmarks, constraints, and financial goals-based objectives
• Drive continuous improvement of alpha generation and capacity expansion
• Collaborate with the founder, product, and growth teams to align research output with company goals

Systems & Development

• Build scalable quantitative investment and wealth-management systems, including robust data pipelines and proprietary alternative data integrations
• Develop and maintain comprehensive platforms for alpha research, backtesting, and live experimentation
• Own DevOps and infrastructure practices, ensuring auditability, reliability, and security of data flows and execution systems
• Continuously leverage AI assistance to boost creativity and product velocity

Preferred Background

• Experience: 5+ years in low-frequency quant research and/or engineering
• Education: Strong academic background from premier institutions in financial engineering/mathematics/computer science, or related quantitative disciplines
• Prior Roles: Quant investing funds or fast-paced startups
• Mindset: AI-native productivity, end-to-end ownership, and bias toward shipping
• Or something untraditional that trumps all of the above
