About the Role

Founder’s Office Intern works with the management to collect market data, create insights, and support strategy across functions. Duration & Transition: This is a 2-month internship. It may be extended only if (a) performance is strong and (b) the intern is available. After 2 months, the role will change as per business needs; the responsibilities below apply only to the first 2 months.


Responsibility / Deliverables

  1. Market Research & Data Collection: Gather accurate data from the internet, phone calls, and on-ground visits.
  2. Turn data into clear insights and actionable suggestions for the team.
  3. Maintain a clean database and share regular updates within timelines.
  4. Communicate clearly, seek clarifications early, keep information verified, and meet deadlines. Fail Fast, Fail Differently, Fail Forward.
  5. Learn continuously (research, communication, analysis), step out of your comfort zone, acquire new knowledge and skills to prepare oneself for the next big role.


Tasks & Activities

Market Research

  • Read the task brief, confirm understanding, and share your approach before starting.
  • Use Google, LinkedIn, IndiaMART, company sites to find relevant companies, people, and facts.
  • Cold call business owners/suppliers/customers; visit local stores/markets when needed to collect on-ground inputs.
  • Create a questionnaire + metrics (get manager approval) to keep data consistent.
  • Build and maintain a simple database (Excel/Sheets): company, contact, notes, insights, status.
  • Verify every key data point; avoid assumptions.

Competitor & Category Scans

  • Identify offline and online competitors.
  • Capture what they sell, how they price, where they operate, and how they market.
  • Summarize key takeaways relevant to our task.

Customer Research

  • What they buy, why they buy (Needs, Desires, Problems), how much do they spend?
  • Why are they buying from competitors

Insight & Presentation

  • Convert raw data into clear findings (what, so-what, now-what).
  • Propose practical solutions based on the brief, bandwidth, and timelines.
  • Prepare clean slides or summary notes; present to the manager/team.
  • Share day-end updates and on-time submissions.

Coordination & Communication

  • Keep the manager informed about progress, blockers, and next steps.
  • When stakeholders are only reachable later in the day, adjust availability accordingly (some afternoon–evening coordination may be required).


Requirements

  • 4–5 hours/day, flexible schedule, remote. Some days require afternoon to late-evening availability to reach respondents.
  • Laptop, mobile phone, stable internet, and basic Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • High energy, persistence, honesty, and comfort with cold calling and on-ground visits (in your city, when needed).


Note: After the initial 2 months, the role scope will change based on business needs and performance. Extension is not automatic; it depends on results and availability.
