The opportunity  
At the Financial restructuring team, we specialize in distressed MA, value creation, financial restructuring, raising capital, advising on capital structure, and stakeholder management. We support businesses through periods of pressure or fundamental transformation. Our integrated team delivers tailored, pragmatic solutions, built on world-class strategic, operational, and financial insights. We aim to create long-term relationships with our clients and our teams work closely with them to understand their short and long-term goals - being there at every stage to identify problems, recommend, and implement solutions that deliver measurable results.  Your key responsibilities  
As Associate Manager in the Financial restructuring team, you will
  • Work in a professional environment, alongside a vibrant and exciting team of experienced professionals on a variety of projects across a wide range of sectors.
  • Contribute as a vital member of the team in executing turnaround and restructuring advisory projects.
  • Develop and review of financial models for purposes including strategic planning; capital allocation; transaction support; investment appraisal; financial accounting and reporting purposes.
  • Liaising with the MENA financial restructuring team and acting as a single point of contact in project execution and delivery.
  • Have an eye for detail to assess the model for its accuracy, focused on arithmetical, and logical flow of items in the model and raising the review observations to ensure quality.
  • Identify issues and propose strategies related to the procedures executed
  • Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to our clients business
  • Managing and motivating teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds and fostering a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrating in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge
  • Use current technology and tools to innovate and enhance the effectiveness of services provided and act as a leader in adopting new tools and techniques
  • Create work products documenting the engagement procedures performed against objectives
  • Assist in business development activities, including preparing presentations for client and internal pursuit meetings
  • Project Management be part of project teams comprising colleagues from across the EY Parthenon sub service lines
  • Building Relationships - Strong working relationships with clients, including influence, advice and support to key decision makers
  • Learn and develop technical and personal skills to support achievement of career goals, through a blend of structured learning, coaching and experiences.

  •  Skills and attributes for success  
  • Excellent academic background, including a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Professional qualification such as CA / CFA or MBA (preferably from a premier institute)
  • 6 - 10 years relevant working experience, ideally in a Big 4 professional services firm or international consulting firm
  • Demonstrated aptitude in quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Strong financial modelling skills
  • Ability to create innovative, robust and flexible financial model solutions based on clients financial and operational information to provide insight into client decisions
  • Ability to provide best practice financial modelling guidance to team members to ensure the completion of work deliverables at the highest level of quality
  • Excellent knowledge in MS Office packages, in particular MS Excel (incl. VBA skills) and PowerPoint
  • Exposure to various analytics tools including PowerBI, Altryx would be preferred
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Experience in report writing and creating presentations with analysis from the financial models built / reviewed
  • Excellent project management, attention to detail, communication, problem solving, interpersonal and teaming skills
  • Willingness to learn, proactivity and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas, while working in a multicultural corporate environment

  •  Ideally, youll also have  
  • Knowledge of banking products, including Islamic Finance.
  • Client facing experience from a professional services background.
  • Knowledge of the MENA region.
  • Fluency in Arabic (spoken and written) could be a bonus
