Job Description

As a Financial Reporting Specialist at Seaspan, you will be an integral part of the Financial Reporting Team. Your primary role will involve supporting the preparation of financial statements for internal Management Reporting and GAAP financial statements. This includes tasks such as preparing working papers, updating forecast files, ensuring accurate financial records, reconciling reports, preparing audit working papers, and completing monthly reporting tasks. Key Responsibilities: - Support the preparation of working papers and monthly reports for the Board of Directors and Executive Management. - Update forecast files monthly based on actuals and ensure commercial changes are accurately captured in financial records. - Ensure complete and accurate company data in the EPM software by rolling forward specific modules monthly. - Reconcile monthly FP&A reports and ensure alignment with monthly financial reporting. - Download and update SOFR curve information for company forecasts. - Complete monthly reporting tasks using the company's financial consolidation tools. - Prepare audit working papers and respond to queries from external and internal auditors. - Complete monthly flash reports to capture data from financial and management reports. - Perform other duties as required. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Management, or equivalent from a recognized institution. - Certified in a recognized professional accounting membership (e.g. CA). - Minimum of 3-4 years of accounting experience in a consulting or professional accounting firm and/or in-house experience. - Exposure to financial data, management reporting, and company reporting. - Strong knowledge of management reporting principles. - Understanding and application of internal controls and process redevelopment. - Very good working knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically Excel and Word. - Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines, strong organizational skills, and ability to multitask. - Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. You will be expected to work periodic overtime to meet deadlines or accommodate time zone differences.,
