Job Description

Role & responsibilities

India Controllership:

  • Lead Indias financial close processes, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing, ensuring compliance with local GAAP (Ind AS) and group accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP).
  • Own statutory audit and tax audit processes in coordination with internal teams and external auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with all Indian statutory and regulatory requirements including GST, TDS, corporate tax, FEMA, and Companies Act.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of financial statements, board reports, ROC filings, and other regulatory documents.
  • Manage internal controls and SOX compliance for India operations; drive control enhancements and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Coordinate with shared services or third-party vendors for payroll, AP/AR, and other financial operations as needed.
  • Monitor intercompany transactions, transfer pricing documentation, and ensure adherence to global policies.

Consulting & Strategic Finance:

  • Participate and be part of team as a strategic advisor to business leaders by providing insights into cost optimization, margin improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in finance transformation or process improvement initiatives (e.g., ERP implementations, automation, standardization).
  • Collaborate with global teams on cross-border transactions, restructuring, entity setup, and financial modelling.
  • Develop and present financial dashboards and key metrics to both India and global leadership.
  • Provide financial guidance for business case development, scenario planning, and investment decisions.

Preferred candidate profile

The Finance Manager India Controllership & Consulting is responsible for overseeing end-to-end controllership functions, statutory compliance, and financial governance for India operations, while also supporting global stakeholders with finance transformation, consulting, and strategic advisory. This role requires a strong understanding of Indian regulatory requirements combined with the ability to advise on cross-border finance matters, business partnering, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA.
  • 8-12 years( Post Qualifiaction) of progressive experience in controllership, finance consulting, or Big 4 advisory roles.
  • Strong experience with Indian accounting standards, tax laws, and compliance environment.
  • Exposure to global accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP), and multinational finance operations.
  • Experience working in or with global capability centers (GCCs), or consulting environments.

Hands-on experience with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Tally or similar ERPs.
