Finance Controller-Assistant Manager

BNC has been mandated to recruit a Finance Controller for Assistant Manager level ) for one of our leading clients in the Refractory Industry, based in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.

This role primarily involves heading the finance function of a large refractory plant with a focus on financial control, month-end tracking, cost tracking, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis within a manufacturing/production setting.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate month-end closing in coordination with the Finance (FI) team.
• Review costs by GL and cost center.
• Calculate energy and volume variances against budget and forecast.
• Apply hands-on knowledge of SAP (FI & CO modules).
• Perform root-cause analysis for RM consumption variances.
• Prepare monthly & quarterly performance reports.
• Collaborate with plant heads and other departments on financial variances.
• Support auditors with data and explanations.
• Drive forecasting, budgeting, and BOM validation for accuracy.
• Confident working with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Degree in Finance/Accounting/Commerce (MBA in Finance preferred).
• Experience: 2–5 years in Plant Finance roles (Cement/Steel/Manufacturing).
• Strong exposure in Manufacturing Plant & having working knowledge of SAP.
• Knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis.
• Proficiency in SAP, MS Excel, and financial modeling.
• Awareness of production processes/BOM structures is a plus.
