About The Role

Field Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of field level activities of OFI supported project titled “Tackling the root causes of child labour in India spices supply chains” in Barmer and Jaisalmer region of Rajasthan. The Field Coordinator will implement planned project activities within the approved budget and timelines with the guidance from the Senior Field Officer and share its updates with their supervisor on regular basis.

Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills which will enable you to promote strong safeguarding practices, understand the safeguarding policy and procedures and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with ChildFund’s Safeguarding Policy.

Required Experience and Education

  • Graduation/Post graduation in Social Work / Rural Development.
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in NGO sector, of which minimum of 2 years’ experience of implementing community level activities with supervision from the line manager.
  • Strong experience in leading community level implementation and establishing rapport with the local community leaders, PRI members, etc.
  • Knowledge of participatory community development approaches.
  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) in Hindi, English and local language, Rajasthani would be an added advantage.
  • Good computer skills, with familiarity in using Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Willingness to travel to remote villages and communities
  • Be gender sensitive with strong conviction and skills for the empowerment of excluded and disadvantaged children.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of project deliverables in the assigned villages.
  • Be responsible for coordinating all activities relating to children, farmers, women, youth and adolescent groups at the field level in assigned location/s.
  • Be responsible for collecting and managing field level data of project activities, support the monitoring and evaluation processes, support reviews and statistical analysis in the assigned location/s.
  • Support team in planning, coordinating, and tracking progress against agreed indicators.
  • Supervise and provide support to Community Animators / Facilitators in delivering their assigned deliverables.
  • Ensure application of child friendly tools during consultations and program monitoring.
  • Support in networking with relevant government bodies and local organizations, Youth Clubs, community leaders, gender inclusive learning spaces, community-based forums, etc.
  • Ensure quality documentation and reporting of the project activities and outcomes.

Other Required Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of community mobilisation, rapport building and organisation of community and panchayat level activities. Knowledge of regional language, Rajasthani is a must.
  • Understanding of national and global frameworks on child protection and safeguarding would be an asset
