Job Opening: Junior Fashion Designer (Part-Time) – Surat

About ZAYRA

ZAYRA is a fast-growing Indian women’s wear brand known for elegant A-line kurtis, co-ord sets, and contemporary ethnic designs. We are expanding our production in Surat and are looking for a passionate Junior Fashion Designer to join our creative team.

Role & Responsibilities

The selected candidate will work closely with the founder and manufacturing units in Surat to support design-to-production activities:

Design & Development

• Assist in creating new designs for kurtis, coord sets, and ethnic/fusion wear
• Prepare basic sketches, detailing, and measurement specifications
• Source trims, fabrics, laces, and other design elements as required
• Prepare mood boards and trend boards

Production Coordination

• Coordinate with Surat manufacturing units for sampling & production
• Follow up on sample creation timelines
• Check fit, measurements, finishing, and design accuracy in samples
• Ensure quality control during bulk production
• Maintain communication between Zayra’s main team and Surat vendors

Operational Support

• Maintain design folders, tech packs & sampling logs
• Assist with sizing, pattern clarification & stitching guidelines
• Support in on-ground vendor visits as required

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of women’s ethnic wear design
• Understanding of stitching, patterns & garment construction
• Ability to communicate clearly with tailors and production teams
• Strong sense of fashion aesthetics and trends
• Good with measurements and quality checking
• Basic computer skills (Excel/WhatsApp/Google Drive)

Eligibility

• Fashion design fresher / diploma / pursuing students
• 0–1 year experience preferred
• Must be based in Surat and willing to travel to manufacturing units (Katargam, Varachha, etc.)

Work Hours

Part-time, flexible timing (4 hours/day)
On-site visits to units as needed.

Salary

Competitive part-time salary based on experience

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: ₹1,000.00 - ₹1,500.00 per day

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
