Description
The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing process of whole spices, ensuring efficient production, quality compliance, cost control, and safety standards. This role requires strong leadership to manage production teams, optimize operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The Factory Manager will plan, organize, and oversee the entire spice processing, cleaning, grading, grinding, and packaging operations. They will ensure optimal machine utilization, develop production schedules, and collaborate with procurement & supply chain teams for raw material availability. Moreover, the Factory Manager will be responsible for ensuring adherence to FSSAI, FDA, HACCP, ISO, and GMP standards, maintaining high product standards, and implementing process improvements. In terms of cost and inventory control, the Factory Manager will monitor raw material usage, yield, and wastage to optimize costs, manage inventory effectively, and identify opportunities for cost reduction. They will also be accountable for implementing and enforcing workplace safety guidelines, conducting safety audits, and training sessions for factory staff, as well as ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials. Additionally, the Factory Manager will lead and motivate production supervisors, machine operators, and factory workers, conduct training & development programs, monitor staff performance, and ensure adherence to company policies. The ideal candidate should have a B.Tech/B.E. in Mechanical, Food Technology, or Industrial Engineering, along with 8+ years of experience in FMCG manufacturing, preferably in spices, food processing, or agro-based industries. Skills required include strong knowledge of spice processing equipment & automation, expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen, and excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
