Factory Head

As the Factory Manager, your role involves overseeing the entire production process within a mattress manufacturing facility. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and safe manufacturing operations, maintaining high product quality standards, meeting production targets, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Your direct reporting line will be to the Operations Director or General Manager. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the entire production process, from raw material procurement to finished goods. - Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high product quality and efficiency. - Monitor production lines to ensure machines and equipment are operating efficiently and minimizing downtime. - Coordinate with the supply chain department to ensure timely availability of materials for production. - Implement and monitor production KPIs such as efficiency, productivity, and quality. Staff Management: - Supervise and lead a team of supervisors, production workers, and other factory personnel. - Hire, train, and evaluate staff performance. - Foster a positive work environment and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. - Ensure all workers follow safety protocols and work in a safe environment. Quality Control: - Ensure products meet industry standards and company specifications. - Oversee the quality control process to identify and rectify defects promptly. - Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance product quality and reduce waste. - Develop and enforce quality standards and inspection procedures for all production process stages. Safety and Compliance: - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in the factory. - Develop safety training programs for all employees. - Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to prevent workplace accidents. - Address safety issues immediately and ensure proper documentation. Cost Control and Budgeting: - Assist in creating and managing the factory's budget. - Monitor production costs and work towards cost optimization without compromising product quality. - Oversee inventory management to prevent overstocking or shortages. - Manage waste reduction initiatives to minimize material costs and improve environmental impact. Equipment Maintenance: - Ensure all factory equipment and machinery are properly maintained and serviced. - Develop preventive maintenance schedules to avoid production delays. - Work with the maintenance team to resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently. Continuous Improvement: - Lead continuous improvement projects to optimize production processes. - Introduce new technologies or processes to improve factory performance and quality. - Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions. Reporting and Documentation: - Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance, safety, and quality metrics. - Maintain accurate records of production activities, employee attendance, and materials used. - Provide regular updates to upper management on factory performance, challenges, and opportunities. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (preferred). - Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
