Factory Accountant

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyze

  manufacturing costs

  including labor, raw materials, and overheads to determine accurate

  unit production costs

  .
• Conduct

  variance analysis

  to identify and explain deviations between actual costs and budgeted figures.
• Manage

  daily financial operations

  , maintain

  fixed asset registers

  (plant & machinery), and handle

  month-end / period-end reporting

  .
• Oversee valuation of

  raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods

  in compliance with accounting standards.
• Manage

  inventory write-downs

  for obsolete or slow-moving items and ensure correct valuation methods such as

  FIFO or LIFO

  .
• Use financial and operational data to assist factory management in

  strategic decisions

  , including make-versus-buy analysis and determining optimal production volumes.
• Ensure effective utilization of

  factory accounting software and ERP systems

  (preferably

  Odoo

  ), ensuring seamless data flow between production operations and finance.
• Lead or support

  ERP implementation and process optimization

  within the factory environment.
• Review factory processes and

  internal financial controls

  to prevent fraud, wastage, inefficiencies, and safety-related financial liabilities.
• Oversee all accounting functions and contribute to

  high-level financial planning and strategy

  for the factory.
• Coordinate with

  auditors and consultants

  for

  monthly GST compliance, filings, and reporting

  .

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years

  of experience in

  factory / manufacturing accounting

• Strong exposure to

  cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP-based factory operations

• Prior experience in

  paper, packaging, or similar manufacturing industries

  will be an added advantage

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in Accounting / Finance / Commerce

  (M.Com / MBA Finance / CMA / CA-Inter or equivalent preferred)
