Facility Manager

Job Title: Facility Manager for a shopping mall at Alwarpet,Chennai Location: Alwarpet,Chennai Industry: Retail / Shopping Mall Operations Experience: 7–12 years in facility management (preferably in malls, commercial buildings, or large retail spaces) Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (preferred) Job Summary: The Facility Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the shopping mall’s infrastructure, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, housekeeping, and general administration. The role requires strong technical understanding, leadership skills to manage facility teams, and experience in liaising with government/statutory bodies for compliance and operational approvals. Key Responsibilities: Ensure smooth functioning of all facility services including electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, lifts, escalators, fire safety, DG sets, and other building utilities. Supervise and coordinate with housekeeping, security, maintenance, and landscaping teams to maintain cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic standards of the mall. Plan and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules. Monitor vendor contracts, AMC agreements, and ensure timely execution of services. Lead and manage a team of technicians, housekeeping, and facility staff effectively. Liaise with local government authorities, statutory bodies, and service providers to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (fire safety, pollution control, trade license, etc.). Manage energy and utility consumption, and suggest cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. Handle emergency situations (fire, power outage, water leakage, etc.) and implement appropriate response plans. Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports on facility operations, complaints, repairs, and utilities. Coordinate with tenants and retail outlets for facility-related concerns and resolution. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems Experience in managing large facility teams and outsourced vendors Sound understanding of statutory compliance and liaisoning with local authorities Minimum 5 years as a Facility Manager experience in shopping malls, commercial complexes, or hospitality industry Fluency in Tamil and English Salary: Minimum 25 K PM to 35 K PM On roll job Pl contact our consultant 8220161206
