Facility Manager

As a Facility Manager, your role involves overseeing a building's maintenance, operations, and safety to ensure it meets the needs of its occupants. You will be responsible for managing budgets, handling vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and supervising both in-house staff and external contractors for tasks like cleaning, security, and repairs. Your focus will also include space management, strategic planning, and emergency preparedness to maintain a functional and secure environment. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations and manage the upkeep of facility equipment, systems (like HVAC), and infrastructure. - Coordinate and manage maintenance activities, including scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs. - Handle building renovations, installations, and refurbishments. - Supervise custodial functions, cleaning, landscaping, and waste disposal. - Ensure the facility complies with all health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations. - Implement and maintain security protocols and emergency preparedness procedures. - Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure standards are met. - Develop and manage facility budgets, track costs, and control expenditures. - Oversee and negotiate contracts with service providers, including cleaning, security, and maintenance companies. - Manage the vendor base to ensure cost-effective procurement. - Supervise facility staff, including technicians, custodians, and groundskeepers, and delegate tasks. - Coordinate with and manage external vendors and contractors. - Communicate effectively with stakeholders and employees regarding facility-related issues. - Plan and coordinate long-term improvements for the facility. - Optimize the use of space within the building. - Liaise with clients and contractors on the design stages of projects. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. - Proven experience in facility management, including budget management and staff supervision. - Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
