Fabric Technologist

As a Senior Fabric Technologist at Protex Global in Gurgaon, India, you will play a pivotal role in the sourcing and development team. Your expertise in woven, denim, and knitted fabrics will be instrumental in driving fabric innovation, optimizing costs, and ensuring quality assurance. Acting as the primary liaison between global buyers and textile suppliers, your focus will be on maintaining top-tier quality and compliance while overseeing fabric development and sourcing. Your key responsibilities will include: - Developing and sourcing innovative fabrics based on buyer briefs and seasonal trends. - Collaborating with mills to identify cost-effective materials. - Managing end-to-end sampling processes. - Handling fabric costing, commercial negotiation, quality assurance, compliance, and merchandising coordination. To succeed in this role, you should possess: - A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, or a related field. - 5-6 years of hands-on experience in fabric development, sourcing, and costing, particularly in woven, denim, and knits. - Strong negotiation skills and vendor management abilities. - Excellent communication skills for effective interactions with suppliers and clients. Your technical knowledge should cover fabric construction, yarns, dyeing, finishing, printing, and testing. Additionally, you should have an understanding of sustainability standards and international compliance protocols. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and PLM systems is a must, while familiarity with CAD or 3D fabric simulation tools is advantageous.
