Description
Role & responsibilities Support the development and implementation of comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures tailored to manufacturing operations Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and areas for improvement Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and company policies, leveraging PDIS knowledge Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to embed safety practices into daily operations Plan and conduct safety training programs for employees, contract workers, and visitors to ensure awareness and adherence to safety norms Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging proactive safety reporting and employee engagement initiatives Maintain and update safety-related documentation including training records, incident reports, risk assessments, and safety manuals Stay current with EHS laws, rules, and best practices, and assist in integrating updates into existing safety systems Ensure timely reporting and documentation as per Factories Act and other applicable legal frameworks Preferred candidate profile Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PG Diploma in Safety, Environment, or related field preferred. Must have completed PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety) from a recognized institute. 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in industrial safety within a manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of applicable safety laws, rules, and regulations (Factories Act, OSHA, etc.) Experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments Proficient in preparing and maintaining safety documentation and reports Hands-on experience in safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs Good understanding of fire safety, hazardous material handling, and emergency preparedness Excellent communication, observation, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, HR, etc.) Preferably familiar with ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and EHS management systems
