Source materials, components, and spares from overseas suppliers.
Evaluate and finalize suppliers based on cost, quality, and delivery terms.
Issue RFQs, compare quotations, and place purchase orders with imported vendors.
Build and maintain relationships with international suppliers.
Follow up on order confirmation, shipping schedules, and delivery timelines.
Resolve issues related to quality, shipment delays, or customs clearance.
Prepare and manage import documentation: LC, shipping documents, invoices, customs forms.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics partners.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and company procurement policies.
Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiation and shipping optimization.
Maintain procurement records, supplier database, and MIS reports.
Provide timely updates on imported material status to production/project teams.
Knowledge of international procurement, import processes, and documentation
Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP / Oracle)
Good coordination and communication skills
Analytical, detail-oriented, and cost-conscious
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Commerce
Certification in Import-Export / Supply Chain (preferred)
