Executive Chef

As an executive chef at our company, you will be responsible for managing our kitchen and staff efficiently to resolve kitchen issues promptly. You will be tasked with attracting and retaining staff, maintaining a positive relationship with team members, optimizing staff productivity, and serving as a replacement in team members" absence. Your role will involve training staff on new recipes, cooking techniques, and equipment, as well as overseeing cooks during food preparation. Additionally, you will supervise the delivery of food supplies, prepare special dishes, and ensure smooth kitchen operations during dinner service. To ensure the success of our kitchen operations, you must guarantee the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective dishes in a timely manner. Ideal candidates for this position should possess creativity, a strong focus on service, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Key Responsibilities: - Ensuring promptness, freshness, and quality of dishes. - Coordinating tasks among cooks. - Implementing hygiene policies and inspecting equipment for cleanliness. - Designing new recipes, planning menus, and selecting plate presentations. - Reviewing staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives. - Hiring and training kitchen staff, including cooks, food preparation workers, and dishwashers. - Performing administrative tasks such as taking stock of food and equipment supplies, and managing purchase orders. - Setting and monitoring performance standards for staff. - Obtaining feedback on food and service quality, and addressing customer problems and complaints. Qualifications Required: - 2+ years of culinary education. - 3+ years of experience in a similar executive chef position. - Advanced knowledge of food professional principles and practices. - Proficient knowledge of human resources management. - Excellent understanding of BOH systems, ordering, and inventory management. - Strong communication skills. - Ability to meet deadlines. - Availability to work on-call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays.
